ER Consulting Inc is an emergency unit management company with its head office located in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Our vision is to be the best, most innovative emergency medicine corporation in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Who we are
ER Consulting Inc manages emergency units nationally in twenty-four private hospitals, treating over forty thousand patients every month. With a full-time doctor compliment of one hundred and a part-time accredited locum pool of over two hundred doctors, ER Consulting Inc. is the largest provider of consultative emergency medical services in the private sector on the African continent.
The company has its origins in a doctors’ partnership created in 2001 to manage the emergency unit at Mediclinic Sandton. In January 2005 the partnership was incorporated to develop ER Consulting Inc managing three emergency units at that time, a decision was made to expand the company and to develop the services offered by the business. Ten years later, ER Consulting Inc is now the leading independent emergency unit management company in South Africa operating emergency units in Mediclinic, Netcare, Life Healthcare, Lenmed, Busamed and Hospital Groups.
The emergency medicine experience for a patient is not confined purely to the healthcare delivered, but rather to the greater patient journey through the system. At ER Consulting Inc, we are cognisant that the system needs support from several areas including the hospital, the specialists in the hospital, allied disciplines, the emergency medical services and very importantly, the administrators. We seek to create a seamless integration of the healthcare delivery into this system through our partners, First Care Solutions (Pty) Ltd (administration) and the Africa Institute of Emergency Medicine (Pty) Ltd (training).
